The project leverages the existing garage structure, minimizing demolition while maximizing spatial quality through light, material clarity, and careful detailing.

Windomere is a garage conversion in Dallas, Texas that repurposes an overlooked space into a flexible environment for productivity and leisure. The project leverages the existing garage structure, minimizing demolition while maximizing spatial quality through light, material clarity, and careful detailing.

The renovation introduces a calm, neutral palette accented by warm wood elements, creating a space that can easily shift between office use, creative work, and casual gathering. Exposed ceiling elements reference the building’s original construction, lending authenticity while contributing to the room’s character.

Daylight is strategically prioritized through new glazing, drawing in natural light and reducing reliance on artificial illumination. This emphasis on light transforms the former garage into a welcoming, habitable space that feels connected to its surroundings despite its compact footprint.

Windomere highlights the potential of adaptive reuse in residential contexts, showing how modest interventions can significantly expand a home’s functionality while maintaining a strong architectural identity.
